Violinist Mia Detwiler performs regularly as a soloist and chamber musician throughout the United States and abroad. An enthusiastic advocate for contemporary music, she enjoys collaborating with living composers and has premiered more than eighty new works. She has performed with Duo Chromatica, Sounds Modern, Ensemble Mise-en, ensemble75, NuAtmospheres, Nova Ensemble, and the Arizona Contemporary Music Ensemble. She is a founding member of Amorsima Trio, who was awarded a 2022 Classical Commissioning Grant from Chamber Music America. She has been featured as a performer in contemporary music festivals around the globe including the Foro Internacional de Música Nueva Manuel Enríquez, New Music Gathering, Mise-en Music Festival, Days of New Music, the Kaleidoscope MusArt Series, ICMC, June in Buffalo, CEMICircles, and Electric LaTex. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Violin Performance with a related field in Contemporary Music from the University of North Texas where she served as Teaching Fellow under the tutelage of Felix Olschofka.
