Lea Baumert is an established flutist and graduate student at Louisiana State University. In addition to being a Teaching Assistant for the flute studio, she also involves herself in the music community through the Kids Orchestra after school program, and the Magnolia Winds, a wind quintet whose goals are centered in community outreach. She also performs with the Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble and was the first prize winner of the LSU Concerto Competition in 2020. Lea's professional performing experience includes playing with the Dallas Opera, Rapides Symphony, and the Amarillo Opera. She has been a member of the Constantinides New Music Ensemble at LSU for two years and has premiered new music at the Peabody Conservatory as well as at her respective institutions in Texas and Louisiana. Lea received her Bachelor's degree from West Texas A&M University, where she studied with Helen Blackburn; and her Master's degree from Louisiana State University, where she studied under Dr. Katherine Kemler.
